Jake Howard
Jake Howard (born 30 August 1945 in Bexley, New South Wales) is a former international rugby footballer who played prop for Australia. Howard was schooled at St. Joseph's College, Hunters Hill and then played his club rugby with Sydney's, Sydney university. He also took up rowing at the senior level with the Sydney Rowing Club.〔''SJC News'', article by James Gray p13〕 He stroked a junior VIII for the club in 1964 and stroked a coxed pair to a State Championship in the 1964/65 season.〔(Guerin-Foster History of Austn Rowing )〕 Howard made his international rugby debut on 6 June 1970 against Scotland and went on to make six further international representative appearances between 1970 and 1973. His final Test appearance was on the 1973 tour of Wales and England. His son Pat Howard (born 1973) also played centre and fly-half for the Wallabies.
